“I’m like many others who tried all the fad diets – anything to lose weight, so I thought. When I began speaking with Heather, she showed me the single, “real” tactic to appropriate weight loss: proper nutrition with exercise. The exercise came quickly as Heather’s instruction helped me to acquire new disciplines and lifestyle habits. What really changed, however, was the way I looked at food. I had been eating the wrong foods in incorrect amounts – starving myself or eating too much food with “hidden”disadvantages. Heather (literally) taught me how to change. If I’m eating the wrong things or beginning new (bad?) habits, she lets me know in a gentle but firm way that what I’m doing is incorrect. She always completes the discussion, however, with support to ensure that what she recommends is within your personal reach. I have never left her office feeling judged. Heather evaluates, discusses options from a multi-disciplinary approach, and assures you that the goals you set are reasonable and healthy. I’ve lost weight, I have kept it off for six years, and I state factually that Heather gave me the discipline and support when I needed it most.
